Adventures in Building a 5' Tall TV Cabinet and More...

Here's whats new:

1. The 5' tall t.v. cabinet to house a 60" flat screen.

Made from reclaimed wood. Custom hand-made hardware in a distressed rusted finish with antiqued mirror.

2. Media Console.

Here you can see the T.V. Cabinet, the Media Console below it, and the steel sphere in a rusted finish (more to come on this).

Recent Projects

Things have been really busy around here. A good chunk of time has been spent helping a friend/client move into a new retail space, but in the meantime here are some things we've been doing:

Here are a few things I've been busy with recently:

Custom Hand Built Railings

These tables were custom built for a client and featured in the 2011 Roswell Tour Home

Custom built Oak & Poplar ottoman/coffee table for a client. The client will be having the top upholstered, and requested it remain unfinished.

Wraps & Lettering Jobs

Starting us off is a partial vehicle wrap. This customer is actually slowly building up to a full wrap. The first session we started with just the tail gate, the back window lettering, and the orange strip at the bottom going down the sides. This is after the second session when he added in the graphics (the turntables, and DJ with crowd).

Next we have a very simple and effective lettering job. 

This company went with premium reflective vinyl which offers the unique quality of 24/7 advertising. Its a little more expensive but when considering you're still advertising even when the sun goes down (which is really early in the winter) you can see how valuable this option is.

Another home theater company; this one utilized the reflective vinyl option.

This is a single layer door & window lettering job. Very clean and simple.

...and...  a multi-layer lettering job; much more complex, and labor intensive.

Automotive Projects

Okay, starting us off is a 3000GT I put a targa top in. This image shows the completed project with the removable top off and on, respectively. (click on any image to see the full size version).

For this next one I wish I had taken a better picture, but it appears the only thing I had handy at the time was my camera phone. Sadly, most of my work has either been neglectfully undocumented, or (as is in this case) poorly documented. I'm working on that. lol. Anyways, this photo hardly captures how clean these welds are, but hopefully you can get a good enough idea. The whole bottom roll on this door was not originally there so the arrows point to the section I added in. 

Here are a few stages of some fabrication work I did on a truck. The first image, of the series, shows you  my starting point, and from there you can see the changes made.

For the next one I reworked and lifted the suspension.

Various Projects

I absolutely loved working on this project. Actually, this client has always been a pleasure to work with. Gotta love designers!

First,  you will see the concept and execution of a hanging sign. I did both the metal work and the sign making. My main focus was to give her a high quality sign that would further establish her brand identity. As you will see later in the post it goes perfectly with the awnings I built her.

Here are the awnings I was talking about earlier. This was one of the first projects I did for this client, if not the first of a long and happy working relationship...

And here is another project I did for this client. She wanted a heavy duty arched curtain rod. This twisted steel rope bar is what we came up with. I rusted it to give it a salvaged feel. This photo can't even begin to capture how nice it really is. 

And Lastly, for this post, are some drapery hanging things (I do believe that is the technical term) I made for the 2010 Roswell Tour Home. This project was pictured in the Atlanta Journal & Constitution.

Here is another job I did. This is a basket weave design I came up with for AC cages. 

... and... this next cage is like the Fort Knox of A/C cages. 

This next one is a Radio Flyer wagon I painted. I gave it a large flake fuchsia candy paint job. Most definitely the coolest Radio Flyer on the block!

The next project was a lot of fun. I gave this pedal car a Candy Apple Red paint job which just glows in the sun.  I think this picture was pre-buff, if my memory serves me.

Here is a really simple back-lit sign I did for KIK CUSTOMS to replace their old sign. 

In the photo below I hand-dug out the area and built this wall for a client.
